Many Thanks to Everyone!

Thanks to all of you for your support of FCC's Music Ministry this fall and Christmas. As you may know from other ministries, this has been a difficult year budget wise and the music operating budget was cut to 1998 levels. We have worked hard to control our costs but have relied on outside fundraising even more not only to raise funds for specific costs but to cover our operating expenses. Our Bake Sale on Dec. 16th was a terrific success, raising $945 to support the Wesley M. Vos Memorial Organ Recital Fund. Alleluia Sound and Good Vibrations raised $2156 through their Christmas Greens fundraiser towards the cost of their upcoming tour in April. Our concerts in November with FreeWill, and in December with Vestry Choir, Jubilate Bell Choir and Chancel Choir, received donations totaling just over $2000 which will help to support operating costs and future concerts. Between the concerts and the children's cantata, which had over 500 people in church that morning, FCC's music ministry reached over 1000 people in the church and greater community through our November and December special events. Our FCC Music Ministry is thriving because of you and what each of you offer through participation, attendance at performances and financial resources. Thank you!

All Choirs and Bell Choirs at FCC start up in September! If you have never been in choir before - it’s never too late to start. We always welcome new members to all our choirs! Please contact the director listed for more information. See below to find where you could be singing or ringing in the fall!!!! If your schedule allows no room in the Fall - another good time to join the singing choirs of FCC is January!! Also, we are also always on the look out for instrumentalists – let us know if you might like to contribute in that way as well! Jubilate Bell Choir, Director: Toni Gambini Adult Bell Choir. Rehearsals are 6:30-8:00 p.m. Wednesdays beginning September 12, 2012. Free Will, Leader: Joy Irwin and Bob Linning An adult ensemble specializing in Contemporary Christian Music with vocals, guitars, bass, keyboard and drums. Rehearsals are Tuesday evenings with additional times arranged by the group. Chancel Choir, Director: Ann Tucker All 6th, 7th and 8th graders are welcome. Rehearsals are 7:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesdays beginning September 5, 2012. Gloria Dei Bell Choir, Director: Robin Restrepo This Bell Choir is for 7th and 8th graders. No experience needed, but we do play in church, so regular attendance is required. Rehearsals are 12:00-1:00 p.m. Sundays beginning September 9, 2012. Rookie Bells, Director: Robin Restrepo A Bell Choir for 5th and 6th graders. No experience needed! We will play in church this year! Rehearsals are 10:45-11:15 a.m. Sundays beginning September 9, 2012. Carol Choir, Director: Ann Tucker All 4th and 5th graders are welcome. Rehearsals are 3:45-4:45 p.m. Wednesdays beginning September 5, 2012. Chime Choir, Director: Robin Restrepo All 4th graders are invited to participate in this choir. Rehearsals are 8:40-9:10 a.m. Sundays beginning September 9, 2012. Cherub Choir, Director: Robin Restrepo All 2nd and 3rd graders are welcome. Rehearsals are 3:45-4:45 p.m. Wednesdays beginning September 5, 2012. Melody Makers, Director: Robin Restrepo All Kindergarten and 1st graders are welcome. Rehearsals are 10:15-10:45 a.m. Sundays beginning September 9, 2012. Pre-school Music Class, Instructor: Robin Restrepo 3 year-olds through pre-Kindergarten with care-giver. 8 classes per session. Fridays, 10:15-10:45 a.m. Fall classes begin on September 21, 2012. Winter classes begin on January 18, 2013. Infant/Toddler Music Class, Instructor: Robin Restrepo Infant through 3 year-olds with care-giver. 8 classes per session. Fridays, 9:30-10:00 a.m. Fall classes begin on September 21, 2012. Winter classes begin on January 18, 2013.
